With all odds stacked against accomplishing a full build programme within the allotted 12-week period (not including Christmas closure), Kemada and Solar Century have worked in collaboration to ensure all Project Management, Programme Management and CDM compliance were met to ensure the safety of all 250+ operatives on site during the site works.
Kemada were appointed by Solar Century to provide full site management and welfare for the site including site offices, toilets, canteen, drying rooms, including site setting out, civil engineering construction of roads, trenches and concrete plinths, all LV electrical cabling installation and testing. In addition responsibilities extended to the overall site management of other client employed specialist sub-contractors from overseas, combined with scheduling and control of all deliveries, offloading and distribution of equipment.
The new Solar Park has been constructed on 100 Acres of Farm Land adjacent to the A50 between Derby and Ashbourne, the site consists of +75,000 Solar Panel, with cabling exceeding 500miles which connects photovoltaic arrays to 9no. centralised inverter substations connecting to 1no. DNO Customer Switch room. To access the key areas on site, Kemada constructed over 2,500mts of internal roads to provide future maintenance and operation of the system.
